In memoriam: Senior fellow Laurie Becklund

Senior fellow Laurie Becklund, an award-winning journalist and former staff writer at the Los Angeles Times, passed away Sunday night at her home in Hollywood from metastatic breast cancer. She was 66. Dana Chinn, director of USC Annenberg’s Media Impact Project, named CCLP faculty fellow

Recently named director of the USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center Media Impact Project, Dana Chinn is a media analytics strategist whose teaching, research and consulting focus on digital analytics for news and nonprofit organizations. Describing it as “a powerful new case on the business of media,” the Columbia Journalism School announced that it will feature CCLP’s research work on the Long Beach Post as a new case study for use in its prestigious Knight Case Studies Initiative.
