Dana ChinnDana Chinn is a media analytics strategist whose teaching, research and consulting focus on digital analytics for news and nonprofit organizations. She is the director of the USC Annenberg Norman Lear Center Media Impact Project, which is funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

She also teaches data journalism and develops interdisciplinary programs such as Open Data LA.

Previously at USC Annenberg she directed the Convergence Core Curriculum, which teaches students to report in print, broadcast and online. Her work experience includes management and consulting positions in online planning and operations, strategic planning, marketing and finance at Gannett, the Los Angeles Times and Media Insight Group. She has an undergraduate degree in journalism and an MBA from USC.
