Genet Berhane, a graduate of Vanderbilt University Law School, joined CCLP as a Law Fellow in January 2011. While at Vanderbilt, she served as editor-in-chief of the Vanderbilt Journal of Transnational Law. Genet, a Gates Millennium Scholar, earned her BFA in Film & Television Production and her MA in Arts & Humanities in Education from New York University.
Genet’s professional experiences include internships at Saturday Night Live, BBC Arts, Scholastic, Inc., and Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts (in Georgia and Tennessee). She has also worked as a Media Educator for the Educational Video Center, an Associate Editor for Scholastic News Online, and a summer associate in the New York office of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP.
Genet is particularly interested in intellectual property litigation, First Amendment law, and issues relating to youth and media.
