On Sunday, August 26, 2012, the USC Annenberg Center on Communication Leadership & Policy presented a panel alongside Bloomberg and the Harvard Institute of Politics at the Bloomberg Link in Tampa, Florida on the eve of the postponed Republican National Convention. While the convention was officially postponed until Tuesday, August 28, 2012, due to the looming threat of Hurricane Isaac, the pre-convention event successfully went off without postponement creating engaging conversations about the role of media in political discourse among leading news media professionals, political pundits, and leading academics…….

Narda Zacchino Named Executive Director of the Daniel Pearl Foundation

CCLP Senior Fellow, Narda Zacchino, former LA Times vice president, has been named the new executive director of the Daniel Pearl Foundation. "We are thrilled that Narda has accepted our offer to become Executive Director," Daniel Pearl's parents and Foundation co-founders Judea and Ruth Pearl said in a release. "Her background as a journalist, editor and author, along with her extensive experience in working with nonprofits make her an ideal choice. Hollihan in LAT – Tuscon shootings

Faculty Fellow Tom Hollihan was cited in an article in the Los Angeles Times on the fatal shootings in Tuscon, AZ that has killed 9 people and critcally wounded Rep. Gabrielle Giffords. According to Hollihan, people on the political fringe "get affected by a kind of toxic political culture that makes them angry and paranoid that their government is being taken away."……

As both a lawyer and journalist, he has more than 24 years of experience operating newspaper, magazine, television and Internet businesses.
