CCLP to offer courses in partnership with The New York Times

The New York Times Knowledge Network and USC have joined forces to establish and offer a new online continuing education program. As part of this new program, the USC Annenberg Center on Communication Leadership & Policy will be offering courses in journalism and public relations beginning in October 2011. Led by Mark Latonero, CCLP's director of research and instruction, courses will be taught by CCLP instructors with journalists from The New York Times. When Brian Gillogly set out to make his documentary, Accidental Icon: The Real Gidget Story, which screens on Aug. 14 at the Egyptian Theater in Hollywood, he thought his greatest challenge would be to convince Kathy Zuckerman – the real woman behind Gidget – to cooperate. Powell appointed USC’s director of Washington policy initiatives

Adam Clayton Powell III, CCLP Senior Fellow, has been named the University of Southern California's director of Washington policy initiatives. His new position was announced to the USC faculty and staff by the Acting Provost, Elizabeth Garrett on July 2, 2010. In his new position, Powell will work closely with the USC vice provost of global initiatives on a number of important projects, including the USC Africa Initiative and the university's continued efforts in India.
