CCLP is delighted to announce the addition of Charles Sennott to its roster of Senior Fellows.
Sennott, an award-winning correspondent, best-selling author and editor with 40 years of experience in international, national and local journalism, will bolster CCLP’s growing commitment to exploring new models for local news, especially the role that young journalists can play in stemming the growth of news deserts.
Sennott’s appointment comes with the announcement that he will be receiving the 2024 James W. Foley World Press Freedom Award on May 1st. This award honors Sennott’s commitment to addressing the crisis in local news both in America and globally. From his time reporting on front lines of wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, the 2011 Arab Spring, the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the war in Ukraine to his co-founding of the GroundTruth Project, which oversees Report for America and Report for the World, Sennott’s career has displayed a remarkable dedication to bringing news to communities that need it most.
