CCLP is pleased to welcome Wendy McMahon, former President and CEO of CBS News, Stations and CBS Media Ventures (2021–2025), as its newest Senior Fellow. McMahon is an industry leader when it comes to modernizing legacy institutions, expanding local journalism and supporting journalistic integrity.

“We are delighted to welcome Wendy McMahon to CCLP where she will join other CBS news veterans including Marvin Kalb, Adam Clayton Powell III and Julianna Goldman,” Geoffrey Cowan, director of CCLP, said. “Her track record and commitment to uncompromising leadership and innovation is needed today more than ever. We look forward to working with her in the years ahead.”

During her four years at CBS, McMahon rapidly transformed the storied institution’s reporting models. She launched the fact-checking program CBS News Confirmed, restructured the CBS Evening News format and integrated local station reporting into CBS News. Within the first year of her tenure, CBS Stations rose to first in local news streaming, and CBS News became the leading national broadcaster in streaming minutes consumed.

McMahon now serves as a senior advisor for beehiiv, a content creation platform for independent journalists. She also gives talks on the intersection of content, technology and audience engagement. To learn more about McMahon, read her Senior Fellow biography.
