Jessica Yellin

Jessica Yellin is the founder News Not Noise, an independent digital media brand dedicated to giving the audience information, not a panic attack. She is the former chief White House correspondent for CNN and an Emmy and Gracie award-winning political journalist reporting for CNN, ABC News and MSNBC. Yellin has covered Capitol Hill, domestic politics, state and national elections, the culture wars and issues facing women in the workplace. Her work has been published in The New York Times, The Daily Beast, DetailsEntertainment Weekly, the Los Angeles Times, and The Atlantic. Her first novel, Savage News, about reporting-while-female, is available now from HarperCollins.

As CNN’s Chief White House Correspondent Yellin interviewed President Obama, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, First Lady Michelle Obama, and has conducted interviews with Presidents Bill Clinton, George H. W.Bush and first lady Laura Bush among others. Yellin provided extensive coverage from the battleground states during the 2008 and 2010 elections and has reported from around the globe including Russia, China, Europe, the Middle East, and Latin America. In Washington, Yellin covered significant policy debates including the push to reform the financial regulatory system.

Prior to CNN, Yellin was a White House correspondent for ABC News and an overnight anchor and correspondent for MSNBC. As a general assignment reporter for WTVT-TV she reported on the 2000 Florida recount in Tallahasee. She began her broadcast career in 1998 as a general assignment reporter for Orlando’s 24-hour cable news channel, Central Florida News 13. In 1999, she was named morning anchor.

Yellin graduated magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Harvard University and graduated from the Westlake School for Girls. She was born and raised in Los Angeles, California.
