Matthew Graham is the Senior Director of Digital Strategy for NBC Sports Bay Area and California, where he oversees all digital content inclusive of website, podcast, social, and next-generation platforms, plus sits on a leadership task force for NBC Owned Television Stations on training newsrooms for the future of storytelling. A digital audience expert, he is the former visiting director of Digital News Operations at Annenberg, where in 2016-2017 he worked with Dean Willow Bay to transform the Annenberg Media Center into a digital-first news operation.

Mr. Graham has had an extensive career as a media executive, previously holding positions as vice president, head of product for the Los Angeles Times in 2015, where he worked closely with the newsroom to nimbly tell stories across all digital platforms. As vice president of audience and product at USA TODAY Sports from 2012-2015, he co-founded For The Win, a mobile-first website dedicated to viral sports stories. FTW was named best mobile content site by Digiday in 2014.

He also served as executive director of digital content for the Hearst newspaper group, spearheading dramatic audience growth in 2011, where at the time they saw their highest digital metrics of all time. He was also a managing editor at Yahoo, where his team was an integral part of no. 1 comScore rankings for every major tentpole event from 2007-2011, including the Beijing and Vancouver Olympics and the first Barack Obama election. He received the Yahoo! Superstar Award for his outstanding editorial leadership for the Beijing Olympics in 2008.

Previous to his time at Yahoo, Mr. Graham had an extensive career as a sports and entertainment journalist and columnist, writing for publications ranging from Cosmo, People, FHM, Us Weekly, and ESPN.
